I was going to go stand in my stone circle yesterday at 11:19, but I was listening to the Ralph Nader Radio Hour and I forgot. I was home so I could catch it. Of course, I could always listen to it online, or even just read the transcripts I get as emails, but as I may have mentioned I get extra points for listening to it on the radio. Because radio.

I'm home again today. When I checked last night, it was supposed to be 102° today. I don't think it's going to get quite that hot, and it does heat up a bit more slowly, but the nights are exceptionally warm and still, so it doesn't cool off much. I'll admit it's wearing me out.

Thankfully, the humidity has moderated slightly--I don't always trust the numbers, but I can tell by the way my front door shuts. Two days ago it was only 83 in here and I was an angry, dripping mess; yesterday it got up to 87 before I started to feel, uh, compromised. That is much more like normal.

Venus is beautiful in the morning.

Why is Rapture Day trending on Bluesky? Is the Rapture supposed to occur today? Since it's made up, I don't hold out much hope, but of course I can't rule it out.

Anyway, I don't think you're supposed to get advance warning, right? If you do, it's probably already been canceled.

Optimus proceeded to do so, after removing the padding and blanket from his subspace. Those were arranged on his legs, so that Mikaela would be comfortable.

"I'll be glad to be back home," she said wistfully.

"We will be soon."

Potential new fannish activity

I've aspired to be a tag wrangler at AO3 for a while, but each time they opened up applications, I haven't been able to find fandoms I wanted to apply for. They recently opened up applications again, and the fandoms they were looking for wranglers for included a lot of K-pop girl groups, including several that I have written about at length. So I put my application on the 19th and now I'm waiting anxiously to hear back (they said it could be 4 weeks, I put my application in 4 days ago, so I've go plenty of waiting to do). Fingers crossed!

If there's one thing I've learned from a life with chronic illnesses, it's that daily energy is not constant, no matter what we do. Some days you can do a lot, and some days just making it to the next day is a lot. Writing is like that, too.

And sometimes, even when you have the energy for writing and no other tasks that need to get done instead, you still just don't want to write. And that's OK, too. Our brains need rest the same as our bodies. Besides, when you come back to your writing, you'll be that much fresher and eager to do it.
