I'm super excited that I may actually be able to participate and finish the snowflake_challenge this year!

My name is Elizabeth, but you can call me libbi. I'm in my late 20s, live in Delaware, married to my favorite man, and have three cats, one of whom was a pandemic foster! We also share a home with our older-nephew and his dog. I currently work as a tax preparer.

I've been involved in fandom since my early teens, back in the LJ days. I've had multiple different accounts on different sites, but these days you can find me here, libbi, or libbi. I go where the fandom tides take me, and I don't have a "main" fandom per se. The following is a list of fandoms I have written in and/or read fanfiction of, and still consider myself a fan of, with some common pairings I like if applicable:

Avatar: The Last Airbender Katara/Zuko, Criminal Minds, Dune, Enola Holmes (2020), Forever (2014), Harry Potter Draco/Hermione, Kingsman, Life with Derek Casey/Derek, MCU Darcy/Steve, The Mentalist Patrick/Theresa, Person of Interest, Narnia, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Tangled (2010), The Vampire Diaries/The Originals* Damon/Elena, The Witcher (Video game & TV).

*I have yet to finish both of these series and I'm not sure if I will.

I enjoy video games and have made a goal this year to reach 75% game completion or higher in my Steam library. I play Flight Rising from time to time as well. My profile is here. Feel free to reach out in either space!

This year, I've challenged myself to read 50 books on Goodreads. I'm looking forward to Jane Harper's new release, The Survivors in February. This year, I'd like to read the Lord of the Rings for the first time. Wish me luck!

Oh hoooo hello from Light Flight o/ I used to be like so, so obsessed with FR and would go halfway rabid during dominance fights, but I've found it really hard to come back after such a long break haha I mostly just check in occasionally, feed my starving dragons, grab any available Galore's Gifts and disappear again lmao Oh god I just checked and it's been so long my age on my profile is almost 3 years off

Good luck with your goals! They all sound super cool O: I actually haven't gotten full achievements on... well... any game! That actually reminds me that I have to remove a patch from the last game I played so I can actually get the achievements haha I know a lot of games have hidden achievements. Do you look them up or just try to unlock them naturally?

I tried being really into dominance fights, and I found it just wasn't for me. But I do love my dragons! I just hate converting food, which is why they're starving, oops. I'd like to spend some time this year writing down the lore I have in my head for some of them.

If I'm playing the game for the first time, I give myself a bit of time to explore. I do sometimes read the achievement guides in case there is an achievement I can only get in the beginning somehow. I love visual novels, but they're the worst for achievements! I usually play one game through without a guide, and then use a guide so I know where to save and start up again to go down another path and get a different ending or achievement therein.

I do the same with VNs! At least I used to... lately I've been playing games with ~recommended play orders~ so I've been following guides pretty closely from the start so I know where to save and how to build up the plot details in the best way.

What VNs have you played? :3c I generally go for otome and BL, though I loved Steins;Gate and Ace Attorney. Last couple I played were Sweet Pool (which was... interesting lol) and Collar x Malice, which was really, really good.

I've played Ace Attorney! What a silly game, it was great.

I seem to generally go for otomes as well. Here's a list of what I've played:

Cateau, Cinderella Phenomenon, Cinders, The Confines of the Crown, Demonheart, Gibbous, A Little Lily Princess, Long Live the Queen, Magical Diary: Horse Hall, Monster Loves You, Monster Prom, Regency Solitaire (kind of fits?), Seduce Me and Seduce Me 2.

Ooh I've had Long Live the Queen sitting in my steam library for a minute. I don't think I'm very good at variable stat building, though haha

I'm guessing Seduce Me is good since you played both? I got it with the Racial Justice game bundle on itchi.io last summer, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I honestly played LLtQ for fun the first few times, then followed a guide to stat build and get the rest of the achievements.

I don't know if I'd say Seduce Me is good, because it was the first otome game I ever played, so I was more excited such a genre existed. I think there are better games out there, both in writing and technical aspects, but it certainly isn't bad. It kind of has a Wattpad-esque vibe to it (Mary Sue protag and all the men fall in love with her!), but then again, what otome game doesn't?

Ahh that makes sense. I've definitely read through things that were mediocre at best just because I was so excited something like that existed in the first place >.>;; Nevertheless, I do have the first game, so I might as well play it soon!

That's a good idea for LLtQ... I might do a few more playthroughs then surrender to a guide haha which is funny because I'm usually quick to use guides for VNs!

Hi, I've found another cat person *grins* I either have an uncanny knack of picking on cat people's journals to take a look at or there's an awful lot of Snowflake participants who are cat people. I love that you took an a pandemic foster, whatever is going on in the world there are always animals in need :) My Plum is 17 and I adopted her in December 2014, she was a black cat and a senior and they are always the last to be chosen, she's such gentle, outgoing and friendly girl though, black panthers have lovely temperaments.

You have some great challenges! If your're a reader you will enjoy Lord of the Rings. I read The Hobbit when I was ten and asked my parents for LoTR for Christmas when I was 11. My mother only bought me The Fellowship of the Ring as she didn't think I would get into such a long and detailed book. I did struggle a little in places but persevered and I was so glad I did, it's such an amazing book. The films portrayed it so well too which I was pleased with as films often come up a little short against a book.

Hello fellow cat person! Our next cats are surely going to be black cats, and I would not be against adopting older ones as well. (Although our next cat may not come live with us for a few years yet!)

I liked the LOTR films, so I'm glad to hear they measure up well to the books. I'm certainly going to be using a lot of resources (chapter guides, etc.) if I need to, as I feel I may get a bit lost in the prose.

Nice to meet you too! I'll admit I haven't read a lot of Zutara or Star Trek fic lately, but I mentioned them mostly out of the idea that I wouldn't mind reading one if I had the opportunity, if that makes sense.

LOL I'm one of those weirdos that preferred The Originals to TVD, but the final season was disappointing to most of the fandom, TBH. Also AtLA, Enola Holmes and The Witcher are common fandoms too! :D Can I add you?

I watched ATLA for the first time a few months back and really enjoyed it. A friend of mine has been into it for years and is very firm about Katara/Zuko being the correct reading of it. She's just started writing it again, so I've wound up beta-ing a bit of that recently, too.

I have vague memories of watching TNG with my Dad, so it wasn't technically the first time I've seen it, but it was the first time I really understood what was going on. It's really a good show, for the most part. (Looking at you, Sub Rosa!)

Yeah, I honestly felt Katara/Aang was forced (and also, Aang is a kid</i. and I can't really ship him with anything).

I think Aang's crush on Katara, someone a little bit older, was entirely appropriate, but her returning his feelings did not make any sense at all - especially with Zuko Right There.

(And yeah, we will not speak of Sub Rosa. Yesterday's Enterprise, though, or the Best of Both Worlds, or honestly, pretty much the whole of Season 3, and a lot of the eps from the later seasons...)

My favorite character! What an interesting question, I hadn't thought of it yet. Perhaps Picard is too obvious, but I really loved his character. Episodes with minimal Picard presence just felt like they were missing something. I think a character that surprised me with how much I liked them by the end was Worf. His character development was great (although I'm not sure about Worf/Troi.)

Picard is the classic choice. Another Worf fan! I think Worf is underrated in the cast, but there's a lot of interesting Klingon stories/lore and it doesn't hurt that most of his episodes are the kind of goofy I adore.
